My work is a collection of parts to tell a story of who I am. I believe every artist includes a self portrait into each creation and allows the viewer to learn aspects of themselves that might normally go unseen. I create objects when I feel they need to be recognized or appreciated using both representational and abstracted styles.
In all of my works I tend to emphasize an interest in mark-making. Through line, shape and texture, emotion can be translated in many ways including brush stroke, shape of object and most importantly color. My paintings are an exploration of my emotions and the ability to translate those feelings to and from the canvas.
I have a variety of influences including my loving family and talented friends. I admire the works of Jim Dine, Lucian Freud, and Jenny Saville just to name a few. I appreciate the time you've taken to view my work.
